I had a great experience with Chase Mastel, arrived right on agreed time, cordial and professional introduction.
Proactive in building my confidence with clear instructions for safe boating practices and particularly with docking skills which was the main focus of my training.
I highly recommend Chase as a boat instructor.

Chase is the right person to help you improve your boating skills. Besides helpful tips on docking, he answered all my boating questions. I will definitely recommend him to others.

I had an excellent experience with Chase. I decided that this year, I wanted to learn how to operate a boat independently. From docking to anchoring Chase taught me everything I need to know and I now feel confident in my boating abilities! Would highly recommend

Chase was absolutely amazing and our daughter will definitely be back. Chase gives a lot of instruction and made sure our daughter had a great time and was enjoying what she was doing! Can’t say enough great thing about her boat coach experience.

My husband and I recently took a two-hour boat driving lesson with Chase and couldn’t be more impressed with the experience. From start to finish, it was professional, thorough, and incredibly helpful. What stood out right away was the instructor’s willingness to meet us at the lake we are most likely to use—something I didn’t expect but appreciated so much. It made the lesson feel truly personalized and relevant.

We started with a comprehensive overview of boating safety and proper procedures, which gave me a solid foundation and a lot more confidence. Then we moved on to hands-on practice, covering everything from launching and docking to how to safely and effectively tow and pick up a downed wake surfer/rider. Chase was knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging the entire time. He explained everything clearly and gave us plenty of time behind the wheel to practice.

By the end of the lesson, we feel much more confident in our ability to handle a boat on our own. We will be using his services again for additional lessons and assistance learning to wake surf, ski/wakeboard towing and general practice to keep improving our boating skills.

If you’re looking to become a safe, capable, and confident boat driver, this lesson is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

Boat Coach Chase came to our home and offered one-on-one (and two-on-one when our teenage son listened in) instruction in how to manage our Super Air Nautique G23. We'd had the boat for several seasons but had never really properly learned how to handle it. Chase is very personable and knowledgeable, and his coaching approach is somehow simultaneously laid-back and hands-on. He had lots of general rules and ideas about driving the boat and about guiding surfers. He had also clearly studied up on our specific make and model to offer more fine-tuned tips. Many times since our last coaching session, the boat captain (husband) has commented, "I wish Chase was here!" Boat Coach MN is investment in education and protection in watercraft. Get coached now!

Chase, The Boat Coach, is hands down the best buddy to have when you're diving into the complex world of wakeboard boats. You can rely on his vast knowledge of boat performance, model year features, and common issues to be on the lookout for. He totally demystified the process of choosing a used boat and gave our search direction and inspiration.

Chase helped us strike a perfect balance between our budget and our goal of finding a solid, fun-to-surf family boat. With his advice, my husband and I focused on getting every feature we wanted on a slightly older model, avoiding the need to break the bank on a newer one.

Chase understands the ins and outs of boat performance, having test-driven countless boats professionally. He knows exactly what to look for, from handling quirks to potential red flags related to care, maintenance, or storage. He helped us evaluate many potential options as they became available until we found the one! His support gave us the confidence to buy a used boat from a private seller.

Out on the water, Chase is the best; he has helped us dial in our wake and troubleshoot a dozen small issues. He's full of tips, tricks, and best practice advice for all things watersports. If you're looking for someone to guide you through the boat market and lake life with expertise and a great attitude, Chase is your guy!

One of the first times I wakeboarded with Chase he taught me how to do a scarecrow (toe side front roll with 180). We became good friends and continued to wakeboard together throughout the years and he became one of the few people I trusted to consistently drive my boat. He taught me other tricks like toe side and heel side front side 540s, toe side and heel side back side 180s, as well as how to clear the wake switch toe side and probably some other things I cannot remember. We started working together at 10k wakes wakeboarding camps and Chase’s skills for teaching beginners, driving boat for watersports, docking, launching, general boat maintenance improved throughout those 4 years and has continued into his time working with Minnesota Inboard and being a boat owner.
